Shortage of clean potable water is one of the problems of many countries in the world especially in the rural areas, which is why the Solaquia has be designed for use in the rural sub-Saharan Africa. Solaqua is a water disinfection unit that utilizes ultra-violet and infrared rays from the sun in order to eliminate hose pathogens within contaminated water. The process includes the water to pass through a sari cloth filter to enhance the efficiency of solar water disinfection of SODIS. With the presence of the Solaqua, residents of rural sub-Saharan Africa can now have the chance to enjoy clean water without harming the environment during the processing.
