As the numbers of environment-conscious people are growing, more and more are now into electric vehicles, thus the demand for parking and charging stations grows as well. To answer the need for these facilities various companies and associations are now building solar powered parking and charging stations. Sanyo is one of the companies that provide solar powered parking through its solar bicycle parking lot at the Tokushima prefectural government office in Japan. The solar-shelf by 21 wheels is a charging station that has PV photovoltaic panels, electronics, and plug-in accommodation for battery charging. Included in the eco-friendly parking and charging stations are the bike tree, the ubi-cycle, envision solar, and the sun station. With these solar parking and charging stations around, keeping the earth safe from carbon emission is a dream come true.
