Architects and their structure designs are now getting friendly with the environment, which is much favorable compared to those who built elegant and eye-catching structures that do not do well to the environment in return. The Canada Pavilion is a structure built by SNC-lavalin Inc., a Canadian engineering and construction company. Being the biggest that can be found at the site, the Canada Pavillion has various eco-friendly features that include some greenery, rainwater collecting system with the use of a drainage system inside the pavilion. This eco-friendly pavilion can be found at the Huangpu river particularly on the Pudong side of the said river.

Renewing our urban trees and giving them a new life is a good of saving the environment. Instead of using these trees are firewood or sending them to waste, which eventually lead to constant growth of landfills, renewing them and using them into a new purpose will not only save the environment and our trees but will definitely bring new look to our homes like the Urban Log Collection. The Urban Log Collection from Dei Studio is made from renewed log and form into a stylish and eco-friendly table base, chair leg, and a lamp base. With the normal unique form and texture of the urban trees, each piece of the collection is guaranteed different from each other.

Water sources are diminishing each day and will soon vanish if we will not make a move in saving the environment and eventually our water resources. An entry to the 2010 Skyscraper competition by Evolo called the Water Tower can possibly the answer to our worries. This skyscraper has the ability to pump water from an underground lake. Designed by H3AR, this tower will also houses a treatment plant, hospital, school, and food storage center. Aside from pumping water from a lake, various eco-friendly features of this tower include dry clay brick mixing earth, cement, and water in order to reduce environmental impact.

Recycling is one of the basic acts and the simplest thing to do in order to help save the environment. Everybody can afford to do this, and the talented designers from India are just one of the living proof. Adnan Tanvir of Janson and Company has submitted their eco-friendly product to Igreen, which Igreen in turn is happy to share with everyone. Their products include various Christmas décor and tree made of vegetables. Included also in their sustainable products are various washbasins and pales that are made from recycled tires. All of the products looks like made of first hand materials.

Eco friendly furniture designs are coming out in the market and are indeed becoming a trend to almost every designers and consumers alike. However, eco-furniture does not only lies with design but with the materials use as well. The Moebius Endless Armchair is a stylish armchair that is made of rattan and water hyacinth. Rattan is a palm that grows like a vine that is visible in tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Australia. Rattan is another sustainable source of material because it rapidly growth, easy to harvest and transport, and capable of many use. With these qualities, rattan can also be a good substitute for tropical wood.
