It seems like electric vehicles are now getting stronger each day. A team at Keio University in Japan has just designed the 8-wheeled electric vehicle called Eliica that has the power to run the speed of up to 230mph. This speed for a fully electric car is totally awesome and amazing. The Eliica stands for Electric Lithium-Ion Car. The Eliica is a project that aims to test the capabilities of electric vehicles and exceed 250mph, which is the current record for a street-legal gas powered vehicle. The most noticeable feature of this car is that it has eight wheels that house an 80hp electric motor each.

The R-House is an amazing design that is completely self-sufficient. It is made of sustainable non-toxic wood and is installed with photovoltaic solar panels and wind turbines. The house is pre-fabricated and assembled. It has photovoltaic cells and vertical axis wind turbines that will fulfill the entire energy requirements of the house. In addition, a rain collecting system is also present in R-House located at the center, and a composting toilet or an electrical incinerating toilet that provides a self-contained facility. This super green house has solar heating or natural gases like propane and hydrogen that ensures the supply of the house’s energy requirement for water heating.

Reusing old structure to make a new one is such a great idea. Just like the Cromley Lofts in Alexandria that receives a Gold level certification and eventually made them as the first LEED certified condominiums in Virginia. The Cromley Lofts has eight wonderful units that are located in the old town area of Alexandria in an old warehouse building circa 1910. Though the structure is converted into modern condominiums, it remains many elements in the past like the brick walls with spray paints. The green element of the lofts are its green roof, salvaged Georgian pin floors, bamboo cabinetry, cork flooring, low-voc carpets, paints, glues and sealants, Energy Star appliances, and the dual flush toilets.
