Toyota Hi-CT Hybrid Concept Car

Toyota Hi-CT hybrid concept car offers an enjoyable vehicle with weird looking design, but according to Toyota’s team of young Japanese and European designers, this is the reflection of what a cool and great vehicle should look like. The idea behind this hybrid concept car is the theme of “unbalanced”, creating something that make people stop and take a good look.

The Hi-CT is a plug-in hybrid with a 1.5L motor and uses lithium-ion batteries, which are located underneath the floor of the vehicle in order to maximize the interior space of the car. While it looks quite boxy and big, it is in fact quite small. The entire vehicle is 3.3 meters long, 1.6 meters wide and 1.7 meters high. It is, effectively, a cube on wheels. Due to the tiny size, it can only carry two persons. However, being a lifestyle car, theres enough space inside it for everything that an active user or two could need. The rear trunk can be modified so that surfboards, bicycles and camping equipment can be carried around for those days where you need to get out to nature.

The interior looks futuristic, I don’t really care anymore about the outside look. Those young designers surely think outside the box when they designed this car.

Clean Technology Tower Features Atrium Of Wind Turbines

Designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill, this tower called “Clean Technology Tower” would be constructed in Chicago as highly efficient building. The wind turbines will be placed at the corners of the building, to make sure it captures the wind at its highest velocity as it accelerates around the tower. If you have heard about recently featured solar Masdar Headquarters, that building also designed by the same firm who will build this clean technology tower. At the apex, where wind speeds are at a maximum, a domed double roof cavity directs the wind towards an array of wind turbines. The negative pressure created by the turbines will be used to ventilate interior spaces. The dome itself is shaded by solar cells that capture the southern sun.

Precinct 4 Sustainable Towers in Malaysia Will Source from Alternative Energya

Another iconic building is going to be built in Malaysia. This is not surprising, since they do have two of the tallest buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers. The design of Precinct4 is very unique, based on traditional Islamic architecture, marine-inspired structures, and radiating block of bioclimatic architecture.

The architect’s goal (Hijjas Kasturi Associates, Malaysian architects) was to design buildings that tell of its place of origin which is culturally modern, Islamic and tropical in nature. While the designers goal (Studio Nicoletti Associati) was to provide a model for sustainable residential design that was inspired by the city’s unique landscape which includes an expansive artificial lake. The biggest inspiration came from the sea and the entire development resembles a fleet of ships.

It is also said that the buildings will source from alternative energy and are expected to produce 50% less CO2 emissions than similar residential projects.

Soul Ash Solace – Eco Friendly Cremation Coffin and Urn

There’s only one certainty in life: we will all die someday. In our society there’s a trend towards cremation. Cremation however demands for specific solutions. Therefor we’ve created a cremation coffin with integrated urn in order to appeal to the specific functional needs and emotional circumstances of a cremation funeral.

Most coffins on the market are too expensive for cremation and aren’t made for burning. Our cremation coffin however is fully executed in ecological materials (corrugated board, papier-much and wood), is budget-friendly and easy burnable. As a result, the cremation process itself goes faster having both an economical as well as an ecological benefit.

On top of the coffin there’s a memory capsule. The urn is executed in stainless steel and has the shape of a sandglass of Time heals all wounds. The urn withstands the cremation process during which it will be coloured through the heat, to give it a personal patina.
