Toyota’s Lightweight 1/X Concept Car

Toyota latest innovation of hybrid car is trying to reduce the weight of the car. Toyota 1/X concept car is looking for more ways to reduce every inch from a gallon of gas possible. This 1/X concept design is based on hybrid Prius, Toyota hope to be able to double impressive mileage ranking compare to Prius. Interesting design can be seen from the roof, it’s transparent, heat and noise insulating, and made from a bio-plastic derived from kenaf and ramie plants. This car features thinner wheel compare to normal cars due to its extreme light weight. If we take a look at the overall design, with the lightness of the car, this means it can travel with 4 gallon tank of fuel for over 600 miles.

Charge Your Battery While Biking With reCycle

Every gadgets on the market today require energy or power to make it work. The challenge of this design is to find a way to harness this energy. ReCycle targets the wasted energy that is generated while riding a bicycle and empowers consumers to not only consume, but produce. Kinetic energy produced while biking creates an electric charge which charges a lithium ion battery. This battery can be removed and used to power a variety of electronics.

The battery is inserted into the charging unit and captures the kinetic energy (normal movements) created while riding a bike. There are minimal amount of mechanical fasteners to allow for each assembly or access to the internal components.

Any electronics that need to be charged or powered can be plugged directly into the battery. The simple aluminum construction allows for easy access to the internal components for repair or upgrade

Toyota Hi-CT Hybrid Concept Car

Toyota Hi-CT hybrid concept car offers an enjoyable vehicle with weird looking design, but according to Toyota’s team of young Japanese and European designers, this is the reflection of what a cool and great vehicle should look like. The idea behind this hybrid concept car is the theme of “unbalanced”, creating something that make people stop and take a good look.

The Hi-CT is a plug-in hybrid with a 1.5L motor and uses lithium-ion batteries, which are located underneath the floor of the vehicle in order to maximize the interior space of the car. While it looks quite boxy and big, it is in fact quite small. The entire vehicle is 3.3 meters long, 1.6 meters wide and 1.7 meters high. It is, effectively, a cube on wheels. Due to the tiny size, it can only carry two persons. However, being a lifestyle car, theres enough space inside it for everything that an active user or two could need. The rear trunk can be modified so that surfboards, bicycles and camping equipment can be carried around for those days where you need to get out to nature.

The interior looks futuristic, I don’t really care anymore about the outside look. Those young designers surely think outside the box when they designed this car.

Zero Pollution Car Techonology

It’s not a dream anymore to actually drive the cleanest car in the world. Zero pollution vehicle is going to be born, the Compressed Air Vehicle is the first affordable and accessible clean car. It brings us our dream: to drive pollution-free and free of fuel dependency. Since the Compressed Air Vehicle is running exclusively on compressed air, it emits only air – zero pollution. The air expelled from the tail pipe is actually cleaner than the air used to fill the tank. This is because before compression, the air is run through carbon filters to eliminate dirt, dust, humidity, and other urban Air impurities that could hamper the engine’s performance. At speeds over 35mph the Compressed Air Vehicle uses small amounts of fuel either gasoline, propane, ethanol or bio fuels to heat air inside a heating chamber called the as it enters the engine. This process produces emissions of only 0.141lbs of CO2 per mile. That is up to 4 times less than the average vehicle and more than two times less than the cleanest vehicle available today.
