Eco-Tunes: A Water Saving Music Player

Music heals our soul. As we listen to our favorite music especially the music of our childhood, we feel young. However, how was it like to turn your favorite music your water usage indicator? It definitely brings two positive results. It will play your favorite music whilst giving you the idea as to how much water your have used as you shower. The eco-tunes will play music with the green backing lights as eco-indicator the moment the user turns the shower on. It changes color as the water consumption increases and when the recommended amount of water usage is reached, which is 35 liters, the indicator will turn red and automatically the music will stop playing. This will then encourage the user to turn off the shower and as the user turn the shower off, the music will continue playing until the end of the song, allowing them to enjoy the music while drying off.

Conserving water can be done in so many ways and using the Waterpebble from Priestmagoode. The green feature of the Waterpebble does not end with saving water from the shower, but also, the waterpebble is designed to be recyclable. The waterpebble works like a water meter that is equipped with a series of LEDS as the water volume indicator. You will see the red LED lighting if your consuming too much, orange for an average consumption, and green if you have saved enough water. The Eco-shower by industrial designer Paul Frigout is a great example of living the eco-friendly way whilst keeping the style and comfort that we need and want. The eco-shower is a power saver as it produces energy that heats the water as the water flows. It also has a water recycling system that minimizes the use of freshwater. In addition, instead of using ceramics for the shower, the eco-shower uses ice stone that is made from recycled glass and concrete and steel. One must note that the flow of water depends on the weight of the person using the shower.

Stylish and modular bathrooms system has now starting to get popular. With the aim to save space and money for construction, many of us are now into modular designs. The Box from Yonoh, a studio based in Valencia is a wonderful modular bathroom system and at the same an eco-friendly one. This bathroom consists of several parts. One houses the water closet and washbasin, the other one houses the shower, a small seat, and two shelves with towel racks. The last module serves as the expansion unit and storage as well. The entire unit requires electricity to function.

The feature that made this bathroom system an eco-friendly one is its ability to recycle water. Water used in the shower and washbasin are stores in the used water tank, which in turn supplies the water closet tank. In addition, all faucet controls of the Box are electronic and have the ability to inform the user of the water temperature and the quantity used, which in turn will allow the users to monitor its water usage and save water in the process. This bathroom system also has a sleek design and clean look, thus making it easy for the users to patronize.

It is so nice to hear today that numerous ways in saving our environment are now being developed by many of the designers and manufacturers worldwide. If you heard a lot about solar panels, wind turbines, recycled items, and so on, this time around it is time for our greywater to be involve in saving the environment.

Roca has presented their W + W or the Washbasin + Watercloset, a multi tasking sink that has the much elegant look as compared to the current sink to toilet greywater systems and it will surely compliment with any modern toilet interior of today. It also has a new exciting feature, which is the use of an automatic cleaning system that avoids the flushing of bacteria into the product’s built-in cistern, thus cutting down some unpleasant odor. This wonderful product from Roco has the ability to reduce water usage by up to 25 percent compared to the current 6/3-liter dual flush toilet.

Bathe Using A Touch Sensitive Bath And Live The Green Life

It is all about recycling and saving on your water usage. Student designers that include Joel Williams, Claire Finch, Alexander Archer-Todde, Ethan Mcquillan, Liam Smith, and Joel Neild designed a touch sensitive bath design.

It consists of a shower unit, bath unit, and a convex mirrored sink. All are designed to save water. The shower unit has sensitive floor panel that direct the water to only the area where the user stands.

The bath unit diverts the used water to flush the toilet.

The sink unit has convex mirrored surface, and a hot and cold touch sensitive foot tile that discouraged its user from using constant flow of water.
